Introduction to FFD
Basically it controls a mash around your object which allows you to deform your geometry. So it allows you to create some important shapes just by deforming by control mesh. One of the thing which is really important is , make any shape inside the Sketchup, right click on it and group it. Then you again right click, there us an option of FFD. FFD is going to give you the size of the control mash.
Subdividing an Object with FFD
It creates sub division of any type of shapes and objects. For example let’s create a cylinder inside Sketchup. Turn off hidden geometry. Right click and make group. Next again right click and click on FFD and next click on “in by in “. The reason you want to click on in by in because it has a option to subdivide the shape. This means when you create your mesh , it’s going to sub divide your geometry so that you have more geometric detail.
Using FFD on more complex shapes
One of the things this extension is good for creating complex edges. the SketchUp extensions FFD and Joint Push Pull to create a complex organic shape, then we apply materials and export it to Enscape to create a photorealistic rendering.
