This release of SketchUp Pro 2022 includes a wide range of enhancements and new functions, such as improved modeling tools, enhanced search functionality, new time-saving features in Layout, and a lot more. As a result of these updates, your workflows will become more efficient and simpler so that you can concentrate on your design work.
Various latest enhancement features in Sketchup Pro for desktop
Search option included in SketchUp Pro version
The SketchUp Pro feature, Search, was first introduced in SketchUp for Web, and now it is available in SketchUp Pro, which allows you to quickly find and activate native commands and extensions installed on your computer. By typing in the name of the tool or a query related to its workflow, you will be able to quickly find the solution to the problem that was created by SketchUp instead of spending valuable time searching for it.
It is highly recommended that if you are a new user of SketchUp, this will help you get used to its interface and the available tools, so you can concentrate on your design rather than trying to figure out which tool you need. Search in SketchUp by name or by what you are trying to accomplish with the tool, and relevant results will appear when you search with those criteria. For those who are more experienced, this will make it easier to reduce the amount of space devoted to the toolbars as result of this adjustment.
Upgraded modeling tools
With the introduction of new tools and extensive updates to existing ones, the SketchUp team is making sure workflows are streamlined, improved, and speeded up. The details of SketchUp Pro’s new version release can be found on their release websites, but here are a few highlights:-
Lasso Select
You can draw custom selection bounds with the Lasso Select tool without needing to reorient the camera in order to select a specific area. Moreover, you can create more than one discrete selection in one click-drag operation and select entities with the stylus much more quickly than with mouse inputs.
Copying of Stamp
It is a new modifier state available for the Move tool called Stamp. By using this state, you are able to duplicate an entity and ‘stamp’ each copy of the entity with one click of the mouse. If you would like to disperse objects in a particular area in a natural manner, then this tool would be useful to you. As an example, when displaying crosswalks along an axis at irregular intervals, makes it easier for the user to make multiple copies along one axis.
Tagging tools
The Tag tool is a new tool that allows you to organize your model in an easy and straightforward manner by allowing you to apply tags to the entities you choose or pre-selected entities. The Tag tool is very useful for improving the fidelity of reporting by being able to edit the tags of component instances in bulk, which will speed up the process of organizing the model by tagging objects directly in the modeling window, as well as for swiftly removing unwanted tags.
Upgraded Freehand tool
There is an update to the freehand tool in SketchUp, with the addition of smoother curve entities, you will be able to draw organic lines.
If you draw a curve and you want to reduce its segmentation incrementally after it has been drawn, you can do that shortly after. Whenever you make a change in SketchUp, you will receive visual feedback. Besides receiving input from the user regarding the axis locking, Freehand is also now able to take advantage of drawing across adjacent faces at different planes by selecting a drawing plane.
Scene Search tool
It is very likely that you create a lot of different scenes if you are creating the outputs for architectural visualizations or construction documentation for communicating the design details contained within them. Due to this, you are forced to scan long Scene lists with coded names visually in order to locate the scene you require.
You can now quickly identify your desired scene and jump to it with Scene Search, a new search filter that can be found next to the Scenes tab.
Various upgraded performance features:-
Mac OS users can also avail the Native M1 feature in SketchUp
It is now possible to run SketchUp Pro on Mac devices with M1 hardware platforms through an installer that is now available within the latest Pro version of SketchUp.
This version of SketchUp for Mac also supports the installation of SketchUp and operating it on Mac devices with Intel processors that use the 2022 installer. In other words, in order to install SketchUp Pro on their Mac, Apple users will not have to determine which chipset their Mac is powered by.
Includes Builder API
With the new Entities Builder API interface, it is possible to generate large amounts of geometry using the Ruby API more quickly. If you are a user who generates a large number of geometry, you will notice a marked improvement in the speed of the process.
