3D Warehouse is a website of searchable, pre-made 3D models that works seamlessly with Sketchup. 3D Warehouse is a tremendous resource and online community for anyone who creates or uses 3D models. Architects and designers who spend many of their working – or waking – hours in BIM and modeling programs have likely dug into the virtual treasure trove that is SketchUp’s 3D Warehouse.
The online repository hosts more than 2.5 million 3D models and materials, which are all free and can be imported into several programs in addition to Trimble Sketchup. Here are 486 (and counting) and here are hundreds of people and trees.
In 3D Wearhouse we can get millions of 3d models at our finger tips. Behind this volume of objects are two entities: manufacturers that make their proprietary furniture and products available both as a service to designers and to get product placement in building models; and millions of designers who proudly post their model portfolios and commiserate in online forums, such as Sketchup Community and Sketch Update. To enhance engagement among these users within the 3D Warehouse platform, Trimble recently added social features.
With the massive amount of inventory in 3D Warehouse, most popular search terms in 3D Warehouse are as follows:-
Features of 3D Wearhouse:-
Download models. Maybe we need a component to complete our own 3D model. Or a specific paint colour to illustrate a design. We can find all these and more in 3D Warehouse.
Save models as we find as favourites so we can easily retrieve them again.
Make public collections of models or materials and save private folders. It’s super easy to find, save, and share 3D Warehouse models.
Upload models that we have created. Whether we have a hobbyist or a professional, we can share our models for others to download! Looking for feedback on our modelling, we can allow comments from other users, too.
Connect with other 3D Warehouse users. If we like a model we have to download it or have questions about how it was created, we can read or add comments about the model or contact the model’s creator by email if they allow it. If we create 3D models professionally, we can use 3D Warehouse to publicise our work and network with other Sketchup users online.
